Eelco Dolstra 86721a5f78 Allow attaching to non-child processes by default The inability to run strace or gdb is the kind of developer-unfriendliness that we're used to from OS X, let's not do it on NixOS. This restriction can be re-enabled by setting boot.kernel.sysctl."kernel.yama.ptrace_scope" = 1; It might be nice to have a NixOS module for enabling hardened defaults. Xref #14392. To build the manual, you need Nix installed on your system (no need
for NixOS). To install Nix, follow the instructions at

    https://nixos.org/nix/download.html

When you have Nix on your system, in the root directory of the project
(i.e., `nixpkgs`), run:

    nix-build nixos/release.nix -A manual.x86_64-linux

When this command successfully finishes, it will tell you where the
manual got generated.
